If, following a formal assessment, the diagnosis of ADHD is established, the service offers the further option of a “medication titration” for pharmacological management of ADHD.
Please note that this process first requires a GP referral and clarification from them if they will support a Shared Care Agreement prior to starting the titration.
New Forest Psychiatry is not currently listed as a Right to Choose provider, however some GP surgeries have accepted a Shared Care Agreement on the basis that the service is registered and regulated by the CQC and remains a local Hampshire-based provider of this service.
-
A titration involves starting you on a medication and then gradually increasing your dose in order to safely confirm the correct dose for you, which is based on both its effectiveness and how you tolerate it.
-
The whole process is priced at £250.00 and includes a follow up appointment to discuss medication options (60 minutes), a series of subsequent telephone calls over the following weeks to determine effectiveness and how well you are tolerating the medication, as well as postage and packing costs of sending controlled/non-controlled drug prescriptions.
Please note that New Forest Psychiatry utilises Pharmacierge as its main pharmacy provider for medication. -
Based on your preference, your local pharmacy can also be contacted and utilised.
-
Thereafter, New Forest Psychiatry will write to your GP to arrange for a ‘Shared Care Agreement’.
